Before going into what Christian Life Coaching is, we wanted to just give some context…

Why Is It Challenging To Be a Christian In

Today’s World?

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 5:10

Today’s world is not an easy one to be in as a Christian. We see an increasingly secular society in which biblical principles are often ignored, disregarded and even mocked. We also see a great deal of fragmentation within the Body of Christ itself; with many different denominations debating conflicting interpretations of scripture.

As a result, we sadly do not see Christian brothers and sisters unite in meaningful ways to be a source of hope for each other and for widows and orphans as Christ commanded.

The evidence of this is that despite there being around 2.6 billion people who identify as Christian, we still see immense suffering in the world, not least the 800 million children and families who are dying a painful death from drinking toxic, sewage-infested water.

I share this because this problem could be solved. Across humanity we have the technology, we have the knowledge, we have the skills and we even have the financial resources. What’s lacking, however, is the human will and community in Christ to solve the issue.

So we need genuinely committed and responsible Christians to come together to support one another and strive to address problems we see in the world. The challenge, however, is that many Christians are stretched; overwhelmed and under-resourced.

We may be struggling to look after ourselves and our families. It may be a battle to make ends meet each month and we may even be in debt just to keep a roof over our heads or food on the table.

Simply dealing with the pressures of day-to-day living with a demanding career may be a challenge. Many Christians may want to do more to help one another and those suffering unnecessarily but we are limited because we lack the resources and that doesn’t just mean financial.

What Is Christian Life Coaching?

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. – Proverbs 27:17

Christian Life Coaching is coaching support that’s rooted in biblical laws and principles. It’s helping those being coached to see their potential so clearly, they feel compelled to live it; to provide the support to overcome the barriers, obstacles and restraining forces to our potential.

Ultimately God is the Source of our human potential and so building our relationship with Him needs to be at the centre of coaching and mentoring.

Christian Life Coaching enables us to be more resourceful and as we increase our human, material and financial resources, we increase our capability to serve Him. The more we realise our potential, the more value we can build in all its forms and so, therefore, by natural extension, the more benevolent we can be.

Why Is Christian Life Coaching So Needed?

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. – Proverbs 13:20

We can listen to sermons, sing songs, study scripture and enjoy the social nature of communing with Christian brothers and sisters. All of these things are needed to nurture us and our spirits, to strengthen our resolve in an increasingly dark and challenging world but they don’t make us a Christian. Christ has called upon us to love and to serve the most vulnerable in line with seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Where Christian Life Coaching and Mentoring comes into its element is to support Christians to develop their character and competence and resources in their lives in a way that can also increase their ability to alleviate suffering in the vulnerable.

As Christians, we all need the guidance to bring the fruitages of God’s Holy Spirit to life in all areas of our lives, careers and our businesses. If we think that we can simply pray and we’ll be given everything we want, we have quite a childish view of God and scripture.

God wants us to learn, to grow, to serve, to build value and to use those resources responsibly. For instance, the Apostle Paul didn’t just preach the gospel, he served through making and selling tents that enabled him to serve as a disciple of Christ.

Here is a video of Paul Waugh, Head Mentor, Lighthouse International Group and Co-Founder of the Christian Response Forum sharing why mentoring is so powerful, not just for ourselves but how we can help others…

Who Are We?

I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws. – Psalm 119:30

At the Christian Response Forum, we have had a fascinating journey to get to the point where we are offering Christian Life Coaching & Mentoring. Started by the Christian partners of Lighthouse International Group, beginning as a secular organisation, we started pioneering research into what it takes for conscientious people to overcome the obstacles and restraining forces to realise their potential in line with building the value required to address the biggest challenges we face in their lives and the world.

We came from a variety of backgrounds; Catholicism, Church of England, Sikhism, Islam, agnosticism and even atheism! However, through an arduous journey of dedication to reality and absolute truth, we came to recognise the need to develop a personal relationship with God and Christ as the Source of our potential. This was inconvenient for all of us in different ways to say the least! We have even been trolled by family, so-called friends and ex-clients because of our personal conviction to Christ.

We recognise, however, that committed Christians are those we want to be developing eternal relationships with in order to be seeking first the Kingdom and nurturing the fruitages of the Holy Spirit.
